So far my research has been going great. It is interesting the information I have found as it is not exactly what I had envisioned myself finding. It has been cool to see how that has shaped a possible thesis as I formulate different findings. With that said, It has been hard to find specific information as I have specific things I am looking for in my mind. It now makes sense to me why we are to research with a question in mind rather than a thesis because it is easier to find information that way on a broader scale. I feel like my findings can shape my original ideas into maybe a more relevant issue that is really taking place. Just because the information I have found isn't exactly what I wanted at first, does not mean that it is not beneficial as it just gives me a broader perspective and it will help me to be able to think about other possible scenarios or options.
At first I was a bit frustrated as I wasn't finding exactly what I wanted but now it is becoming a little bit more clear to me why that shouldn't be frustrating but eye opening to me to create an even better issues paper with my original ideas. Something I can continue to do is to make sure I have solid structure here as I want to attack my issue from a Definition way of attack by telling what the issue is, then following up with that with Fact stating why it is in issue and giving correct, valid information with what is currently happening as well as the history of unification in America.
Something I am feeling that will be key for me is to not just disregard certain information I find because I immediately do not find it useful but to continue to seek answers in what I find to help by thoroughly verifying it before making a decision on it. I feel that in the past I have been a little bit unorganized so it is important for me right from the beginning here to be very organized and to be very percise on the message I am trying to convey to my audience so it makes sense and that it is effective.
Research can be fun and it doesn't need to be a "boring" or "rote" thing to do. I feel I can learn a lot from this assignment that might benefit me far beyond this class.
