Remembering Research

My research process is very standard. I look for many articles online as well as take advantage of the library’s collections. Seeing as my topic is pretty kairotic it may be more difficult for me to find useful information in books. I may be able to find some books telling about specific athletes and their views on the subject. I do believe I will be able to acquire knowledge for the globalization side of the topic from resources in the library. It will definitely help with the history of other countries and their procedures in handling the issue. However, for the most part, I will most likely have to use reliable articles I find online.

   I believe research can be frustrating depending on the topic/issue being researched. Some topics there are loads of information on, books and books galore. Others, not so much. You really have to search for the information you want. The more specific and detailed your topic, the less information there is, sometimes, making it harder to find. Research for me has always been easy, useful, and simple. For my topic, I do not believe I will find research frustrating.

   I have read some articles and debates on my topic to start off my research. They all take similar approaches to the topic. With tying in globalization, my research paper will be coming from a different approach. One, that I think, could be very effective. With researching how other countries view the issue and how the issue could affect the world many new ideas and arguments can be made. I plan on taking this issue and putting a spin on it.

   I can start recording resources I find useful. This way I can refer back to them. I am definitely I writer who loves to analyze facts and statements. I also love giving my opinion. I believe that for this assignment I will have to hide my opinions more than I am used to. I’ve always had a difficult time just going off facts and letting them do the talking. For this paper I am going to be going out of my comfort zone in my technique of being persuasive. I hope I can find a balance between my natural writing style and the style needed for this assignment. I am definitely going to be spending more time on this paper than the other two combined. Not because I’ll have trouble with it necessarily, but because I want to make sure this assignment is as persuasive and informative as possible. It’s been awhile since I’ve written a research paper so I’ve taken this assignment as a challenge to see how capable I am of compiling and organizing facts and statements into a persuasive, researched argument.
